طالب الرئيس السابق للاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم، السويسري جوزيف بلاتر، أمس الأربعاء، خلال تصريحات لشبكة « بي بي سي » البريطانية، بمنح شرف استضافة نهائيات كأس العالم 2026 إلى المغرب، منتقدا في الوقت ذاته فكرة التنظيم المشترك، في إشارة إلى ملف دول قارة أمريكا الشمالية المنافس للرباط، حيث قال إن » لقد برهنت الدول الثلاث على قدرتها على تنظيم المونديال بمفردها، ولهذا لماذا يريدون تنظيمه سويا؟ ».
وأشار بلاتر في ذات التصريحات أنه « يجب تنظيم مباريات كأس العالم في بلد واحد بدلا من استضافة عدة دول لفعالياتها »، داعيا في الوقت نفسه لأن يذهب تنظيم مونديال 2026 إلى المغرب « بأي شكل من الأشكال ».
ووصف بلاتر، الذي جلس على كرسي رئاسة المنظومة الكروية الكبرى في العالم لمدة 17 عاما، قبل أن يتم إيقافه قبل 3 أعوام عن ممارسة أي أنشطة متعلقة بكرة القدم بتهمة الفساد، تنظيم مونديال 2002 في كوريا الجنوبية واليابان بـ « الكابوس ».
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن المغرب تقدم بطلب استضافة النهائيات العالمية أربع مرات لم تُكلَّل بالنجاح؛ أعوام 1994 (أمريكا)، و1998 (فرنسا)، و2006 (ألمانيا)، و2010 (جنوب أفريقيا).
وسيتم اتخاذ القرار بشأن كأس العالم 2026 يوم 13 يونيو المقبل عشية انطلاق مونديال روسيا، في مؤتمر الفيفا بموسكو، من خلال تصويت ستشارك فيه جميع الاتحادات الوطنية (207 بعد استبعاد المرشحين) التي لها حق التصويت.
