أين حصلت اول انتخابات فى التاريخ؟

الانتخابات لم تكن شيئاً مستحدثاً على الإطلاق كما يظن البعض، بل إن النظام الانتخابي موجود منذ فجر التاريخ، ولكن في الدول التي احترمت شعبها وقررت أن يكون هناك نظام ديمقراطي فى الحكم.

كانت موجودة فى روما القديمة واليونان القديمة. فقد عرفت الانتخابات في وقت مبكر من القرون الوسطى، وكانت موجودة فى روما القديمة واليونان القديمة، فكان يتم من خلالها تحديد الإمبراطور المقدس أو بابا الكنيسة الكاثوليكية، وهو ما دلت عليه عملة الانتخابات والتى كانت توزع على الناخبين فى روما القديمة.

فى عام 920م فى ولاية تاميل نادو بالهند، استخدمت أوراق النخيل لإتمام عملية الاقتراع، حيث يكتب اسم المرشح على ورق النخيل ويتم وضعه داخل وعاء طيني.

كما عرف العرب الانتخابات واستخدموها قديماً لاختيار الخليفة الذي يريدونه، حيث أجريت الانتخابات وتم اختيار خلفاء المسلمين: عثمان بن عفان، وعلي بن أبى طالب.
